Description
Soft, fluffy homemade marshmallows with a ribbon of Nutella through them. These marshmallows couldn’t be easier to make, and they truly taste delicious!
Ingredients
- 2/3 cup water, divided
- 2 envelopes unflavored gelatin (2 tablespoons)
- 1/4 cup light corn syrup
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup Nutella, to swirl through
Instructions
1. Line an 8×8 pan with parchment paper. Spray the parchment paper with nonstick cooking spray.
2. In the bowl of a stand mixer, fitted with the whisk attachment, or large mixing bowl, add 1/3 cup (or 78 mL) water plus the gelatin.
3. In a small saucepan, add the remaining water, corn syrup and sugar. Bring mixture to a boil over medium heat. Boil the mixture for 1 minute.
4. Pour hot syrup over gelatin mixture. Use a handheld mixer, or the whisk attachment of the stand mixer and beat on high speed for 6 minutes, or until fluffy and stiff peaks form. Add in the vanilla extract and mix just until combined.
5. When the marshmallow mixture is almost done, heat Nutella for 45 seconds in microwave, or until warm and pourable.
6. Pour marshmallow mixture into prepared pan.
7. Drizzle Nutella over marshmallow, then use a butter knife to gently swirl through the marshmallow. Dust with powdered sugar.
2. Set aside for the marshmallows to set up for 3 hours, or until firm to the touch. They will set faster in colder weather (mine only took an hour sitting outside in our sunroom when it was around 45 degrees Fahrenheit outside.)
