Description
These Crispy Taco Pockets are a fun twist on taco night. Saucy, cheesy taco seasoned meat is stuffed inside of a tortilla, then air fried until golden and crispy.
Ingredients
Taco Meat
- 1 pound ground hamburger
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1/4 cup beef broth, or water
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and pepper
- 1/2 cup Mexican cheese, shredded
To serve
- 1 cup Mexican Cheese
- Large size tortillas
- Salsa
- Lettuce
- Guacamole
- Sour cream
Instructions
1. Make the Taco Meat. In a large skillet, over medium heat, add all ingredients except for the cheese. Cook the meat, breaking apart as it cooks until browned and cooked through. Remove from the heat, then stir in ½ cup Mexican cheese, until melted.
2. Add the hamburger meat to the center of the tortillas, Sprinkle additional Mexican cheese on top. Fold the sides of the tortilla in, over the meat, then fold the top and bottom in to seal the meat in and create your taco pocket.
3. Add the taco pockets to your air fryer. Air fry at 375F for 5-6 minutes (I found my first batch took a touch longer, than the rest, so you may need to add a touch more time for the first batch. Also, I did not need to flip my taco pockets, as both sides got equally crispy).
4. Continue to air fry the remaining taco pockets until crispy. Serve with your favorite taco toppings and enjoy!
