Description

This homemade cranberry sauce is bursting with fresh, perfectly sweetened cranberries and freshly squeezed orange juice. It’s quick to make and pairs perfectly with your Thanksgiving turkey, or any time of year you want to. make a delicious roast turkey. This homemade cranberry sauce is way better than store bought.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 pound cranberries
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest

Instructions

1. Add sugars, water and orange juice to a large skillet. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until sugars dissolve.

2. Add in cranberries and bring to a boil. Reduce to a simmer and simmer for 10 minutes. Cranberries will burst open and thicken during this time. In the last minute of cooking, I recommend CAREFULLY tasting the sauce (it will be hot), to see if it is sweet enough for your taste. If not, add a touch more sugar.

3. Remove from heat and allow to fully cool. Before serving, serve with orange zest.
