Welcome! I’m Jolene!
Remember the smell of warm chocolate chip cookies baking in the oven? Or, how about holding a slice of gooey, cheesy pizza. The nostalgia of food is something that all of us have. Whether it is the taste of the delicious food that you remember, the person you made the food with, or the people you sat at the table with, we all have nostalgia for our favorite foods. And, nostalgia is something special. It connects me to my dad, who recently passed away. It reminds me of my mom before she was diagnosed with parkinson’s. And, now it makes memories for my own family, for my own kids to remember from their growing up years.
My name is Jolene, the creator of Simple Baking with Pep. I grew up making Christmas cookies with my mom from store-bought dough. While we didn’t make many things from scratch, the memories I made from those Christmas cookies fueled my love for baking. Now I have a family of my own and I enjoy sharing my love of baking and cooking with my own family, just like my mom did. I hope to inspire you to try something new and grow a fondness for baking and cooking. Even if you make a mistake or two, you’ll share some laughs and create memories along the way. Trust me, I’ve had my fair share of burnt cookies. Stay awhile, make a recipe or two, and make some memories that will last a lifetime, along the way.
